Reliance Industries Ltd has set October 28, 2024 as the record date for bonus issue of shares announced on September 5, 2024, the company said in a regulatory filing on Wednesday.

RIL will issue bonus shares in 1:1 ratio. Shareholders will receive one free share for each hold.

Shareholders holding RIL shares in their demat accounts before October 28, 2024 will be eligible for the bonus issue of shares.

The issue of bonus shares was approved by the shareholders through an e-voting process on Wednesday, October 16.

RIL last gave a 1:1 bonus to its shareholders in September 2017 and before that in November 2009.
