Richa Chadha is one of the few actresses who is vocal about environmental issues and their potential impacts. Recently, he took on his ex and expressed concern over the deteriorating air quality in Delhi after Diwali celebrations.
Although Delhi suffers from severe smog and pollution every year, the post-Diwali situation leads to excessive bursting of firecrackers. Richa Chadha responded to an ex user’s post as he shared a video of bursting crackers while the city was covered in a thick layer of smog and mentioned that AQI levels reaching 1000+ in some areas which is a threat to human health. It is ‘dangerous’.

Expressing his concern and anguish over this, he mentioned how citizens have been given a ‘death sentence called life’ as they breathe extremely polluted air on a daily basis. Chadha described his close connection with the city and shared his frustrations.
He wrote, “The death penalty is called life in Delhi… The city of my childhood, my school, my roots… It is heartbreaking to see the indifference and hatred towards myself. Politicians will do nothing until Until we learn to speak for ourselves.”
Earlier, in an interview with Vogue India, the actress had revealed that she was against having a child due to the many impacts of climate change. She was not sure about welcoming a child, citing the severe temperatures in summer and winter as examples.
Talking about work, Richa Chadha was last seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar. She took time off from work and welcomed her first child, a daughter, with her husband Ali Fazal. Since then, she took a break of a few months to focus on motherhood and is preparing for the release of her next film ‘Abhi Toh Party Shuru Hui Hai’.
