Vegetarianism is really becoming very popular these days, as more and more people are adopting this lifestyle. And as this continues to grow, many vegetarian restaurants are opening up in New Delhi, including People of Tomorrow. Located in the charming Basant Lok Bazaar in Vasant Vihar, this place is perfect for those who love vegetarian food. However, it’s not just the food that’s vegetarian—the whole place has been designed with sustainability in mind. From the eco-friendly interiors to the cutlery and lanterns, the ambiance is truly unique. We recently had the chance to visit and try out the delicious cuisine here, and here’s a small sample of what we experienced.
We started our evening with some of their specialty cocktails. First of all, we had these cocktails. BrambleA brilliant blend of gin, java plum and lemon that perfectly balanced the sweet and sour notes – it was fantastic! Then, we sipped Yesterday’s PalomaA refreshing blend of grape roselle, oregano and lemon, which was equally delightful. Finally, we tried mirafloresWhich includes Pisco, Sweet Sherry, Martini Rosso and Maraschino Cherry. Initially it was a bit bitter, but gradually we started liking it.

When it came to appetizers, we started things off right AkureyriA modern take on the Parsi dish. Made with fried watermelon seed cheese and served with a soft bun, it was pure comfort in one bite—so delicious that we finished it in no time! Then, we ate Von-a-TonDumplings in their delicious homemade chilli, ginger and umami sauce. They were soft, juicy and steamed to perfection – dim sum fans, you’ll love these! We also gave tartare de nasu One to try was the Eggplant Tartare served with Lotus Stem Chips and Scallion Dip. Even if you’re not a big fan of eggplant, you might still love this dish!

For the main course, we wanted to try Mazaman but it wasn’t available so we opted for this. This is BIANGING Instead. This dish featured hand-pulled noodles tossed in a chili, garlic, and peanut sauce. It was hearty and full of flavor, making for a satisfying main dish. Although we only tried this one, their menu has many other exciting options like Tomatoes of Tomorrow, Pineapple Carpaccio, Fatayer, and Alla Norma. If you have space, definitely check them out!

No meal is complete without dessert, and we ended our meal on a sweet note Eton’s Mess. This refreshing dessert had layers of vanilla bean custard, soft vanilla sponge, red fruit compote, fresh mango and coconut oat streusel, topped with a mini pavlova. It wasn’t too heavy and was just perfect to eat.
Overall, we had a great time at People of Tomorrow. If you are looking for a great vegetarian place in the city, this place should definitely be on your list!
