Retro, starring Suria in the lead role, is fully prepared to release on May 1, 2025. Directed by Karthik Subbaraj, the film is ready for a grand dramatic start. As the film makes its way for the big screen, major Lady Pooja Hegde recalled her first statement session with the director.
Talking to Glet, the actress said, “When I was going to meet Karthik Subbaraj for a statement for the first time, she asked me to come without any makeup or hairstyle. I was really happy to hear this, because I like to work on films that need a natural, no-mackup look.”
Retro is a romantic action film that follows the story of Parryvel Kannan, a young man in love with Rukmini. For love, he chooses to leave his violent past behind and lead a calm life.
However, his love is lost, and he must be engaged on a trip to find again, which overcomes every challenge in his way.
The film stars Suriya and Pooja Hegde in the lead roles, which include Jujo George, Jairam, Karunakaran, Nasar, Prakash Raj, Suzith Shankar and many other lead roles, supported by an artist contingent.
Retro is co-produced by Suriya and Jyotica under a 2D entertainment banner. Cinematography is handled by Shreyas Krishna, music is composed by Santosh Narayanan, and editing is performed by Shafiq Mohammad Ali.
On the work front, Surya will be viewed next time with Suriya 45 titled Suriya 45 directed by RJ Balaji. This upcoming film is expected to be an action entertainer, in which Trisha Krishnan played the role of a female lead.
Meanwhile, Pooja Hegde will be seen as a prominent woman in Jana Naygan, alleged last film of Thalapathy Vijay, who H. Is directed by Vinith. The film is called an action drama with political themes, 2022 marks his second cooperation with Vijay after the 2022 film Beast. The actors include Bobby Deol, Mamita Baiju, Priyamani, Gautam Vasudev Menon and others.
Additionally, Pooja will create a special dance appearance in Cool starring Rajinikanth, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraja.
