Suriya and Pooja are one of the biggest releases of Hegde’s Retro 2025. With its dramatic arrival for May 1, the discussion around the film is more loud than ever. But here is an unexpected turn – director Karthik Subbej recently revealed that the film’s script was not originally ready for anyone other than superstar Rajinikanth.
Karthik Subberaj clarified that the script for retro was never for Thalapati Vijay, as some had estimated. He shared that he had originally written a story with Rajinikanth, and the early version was overshadowed by Rajinikanth’s prestigious image in the action style.
However, after telling Suria, the story developed in a romantic drama. Interestingly, Surya also asked Karthik if he scripted Rajinikanth for the first time.
“This story was not written for Thalapathi Vijay Sir, as is being estimated. I wrote this script keeping in mind the Thalaor. Initially, it was more in the action zone according to the image of Thalaor. After the statement of Surya Sir, it turned into a love story.
Retro paravels follows Kannan, who is a person on a mission to find his lost love, Rukmini. This reflects the obstacles that appear in their discovery and emotional journey.
Directed and written by Karthik Subbaraj, this romantic action film was originally given the title of Suria 44. The film features a contingent of artists in a contingent of artists with Suriya, Pooja Hegde, Karunakaran, Nasar, Prakash Raj, Jujee George, Jairam, Sujith Shankar and Singampuli. Shriya Saran makes a cameo appearance in the film.
On the front of Rajinikanth’s work, he will be seen next time in the cool of Lokesh Kanagaraja. The film will also include Nagarjuna, Shruti Haasan, Upendra and Saubin Shahir in the lead roles. Currently, Thalaor Nelson is busy shooting jailer 2 along with Nelson Dilipkumar and many others. Details about the film are currently wrapped by manufacturers.
