Tamil film Retro starring Suriya and Pooja Hegde has ended their box office journey after a disappointing run. Released on May 1, the film failed to live up to expectations; Thus, it could not catch its early weekend well.
Continued with great expectations on 1 May, Retro met with mixed word-mouth, disrupting its box office performance to a great extent. The romantic action drama, directed by Karthik Subberaj, wrapped its dramatic run at the box office around the world in a gross of just Rs 97 crore. The mark of Rs 100 crore in the film missed only Rs 3 crore.
Suriya starrer earned Rs 71 crore from Indian markets, while Rs 48.75 crore came from Tamil Nadu alone. It also found some traction in foreign areas and mixed about 26 crore rupees.
Retro performed better than Suria’s previous release, Kangwa, a major box office disaster. Karthik Subbaraj directors became a weak at the box office.
Fans will have to wait for Suria’s correct return film. He is soon starting the shooting of Suria 46, co-acting of Mamita Baiju and directed by Venki Ataluri. Let us see which upcoming film will mark Suriya’s return at the box office.
