Darshan Thoogudeepa, a popular face in the Kannada industry and an undertrial in the Renuka Swamy murder case, is having a tough time in jail. According to several media reports, Siddharudha, who reportedly shared a cell with Thoogudeepa, said that the actor is losing weight and his skin has turned pale.
The actor’s wife Vijayalakshmi is also having a tough time facing the world and fighting a legal battle to get her husband released from jail. In the latest update, she visited the Kollur temple and performed Nava Chandika Homa by offering special prayers to Goddess Mookambika.
Darshan’s wife takes Prasad to jail
According to a News18 report, Vijayalakshmi visited Parappa’s Agrahara prison on July 29 and offered holy prasad to Darshan. She was accompanied by Darshan’s brother Dinkar Thoogudeepa and his son Vinish Thoogudeepa who visited the actor in prison. Vijayalakshmi advised the actor not to worry and take care of his health.
Moreover, if reports are to be believed, Darshan’s brother also performed the puja of Goddess Chamundeshwari of Mysore for him.
Darshan Thoogudeepa moves HC again for food, clothes, cutlery
Meanwhile, Darshan has again approached the High Court, seeking direction to the jail authorities to provide him home-cooked food, clothes and cutlery.
Earlier on July 25, a Bengaluru court had rejected the Kannada actor’s plea to provide him home-cooked food, separate clothes and bedding in jail.
According to the arguments of Darshan’s lawyer, the food given to the actor is not enough to maintain his physical and muscular body. However, the special public prosecutor said that Darshan cannot be given special treatment just because he is an influential person.
The case of Darshan Thoogudeepa
The entire country was shocked when on June 11, Bengaluru police arrested Sandalwood actor Darshan Thoogudeepa and his alleged partner Pavithra Gowda. The arrest was made in connection with the murder of Renuka Swamy.
According to the report, Darshan allegedly instigated the murder after the victim sent obscene and abusive messages to Gowda. Not only this, Swamy also blamed her for the problems in Darshan’s marriage. This did not go down well with Darshan and Pavitra. Later, the victim was found dead after severe torture.
