Darshan Thoogudeepa, arrested in the Renuka Swamy murder case, has reportedly confessed to the police that he had given Rs 30 lakh to another accused to ensure that his name does not appear in the case.
Darshan Thoogudeepa confesses to paying money to escape murder
The controversy surrounding popular actors Darshan Thoogudeepa and Pavithra Gowda is getting worse with each passing day.
According to a report by Money Control, accused no. 2 in the Renuka Swamy murder case the actor has confessed to his involvement in the case as per the remand application submitted by the police in the court.
The report states that as per the remand copy, Darshan also allegedly admitted to paying Rs 30 lakh to Pradosh, another accused in the case, to manage the police, lawyers and people who surrendered before the police claiming that they had committed the murder.
Reportedly, the 47-year-old actor tried his best to ensure that his name does not figure in the case.
However, all his efforts to hide the alleged heinous crime went in vain. Reports state that during the police search, they also seized cash from Pradosh’s house on JP Road in Girinagar.
On the other hand, Vijayanagar sub-division police on Wednesday questioned Darshan’s wife Vijayalakshmi. The police also recovered Darshan’s shoes from his house. These are the shoes Darshan was allegedly wearing at the time of the murder in the Pattanagere shed in RR Nagar.
Meanwhile, several actors from the industry including Rachita Ram, Ramya, Kiccha Sudeep, Upendra and Kannada filmmaker Umapathy Srinivasa Gowda have publicly spoken about the matter through social media.
What is the case of Darshan Thoogudeepa?
Popular Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa and his alleged girlfriend Pavithra Gowda have been arrested in connection with the murder of Renuka Swamy. The victim, a 33-year-old pharmacist from Chitradurga, had made derogatory comments against Gowda, which she did not like.
Following this, Pavitra reportedly wanted to take revenge by teaming up with Kannada star Darshan Thoogudeepa, who instigated the murder.
According to the report, the latter, with the help of his henchmen, caught the victim and murdered him inside his garage with multiple weapons. Later, the victim’s body was dumped in a storm drainage.
