Renuka Desai, also known as Renu Desai, has been facing online harassment from fans of her ex-husband, actor and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, since their separation 12 years ago. Recently, she responded to a troll on Instagram who criticised her for leaving Pawan, and called him ‘someone like God’.

Renuka clarified that it was Pawan Kalyan who left her and remarried, and urged the troll to refrain from such comments. Following this exchange, she deleted the comments and disabled the comments section on her post.

The comment is originally in Telugu, which roughly translates to, “Bhabhi, you should have had some patience. You misunderstood a God like person. Maybe now you realise his worth. But I am happy that the kids are with Pawan Kalyan.”

Reacting to the comment, Renuka said, “If you had even a little intelligence, you wouldn’t have made such stupid comments. He was the one who left me and married another man, not the other way round. Please refrain from such comments; they only hurt me.”

Renuka Desai and Pawan Kalyan were married for three years and separated in 2012. They have two children, Akira and Aadhya. Akira supports her father’s political activities, while Aadhya recently accompanied her father to a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Pawan is currently married to Anna Lezhneva. Renuka has not remarried.
