Reliance Jio has increased the prices of its select prepaid and postpaid plans. The telecom giant has increased the prices of the plans by 12 per cent, which was recently rumoured to happen in 2024. Although the new plans are still a few days away from becoming effective, one thing to note here is that Jio will not offer unlimited 5G data with at least 5 prepaid packs. And what are these? Jio increased the prices of prepaid plans, unlimited 5G data will not be available in these 5 plans

Reliance Jio has announced that it will only offer “unlimited 5G data” on all plans with 2GB/day and above. This means that prepaid plans with 1.5GB per day or less data will not offer unlimited 5G data to customers. Let us first understand what unlimited 5G data actually is.

If you buy a prepaid plan with 2GB/day or more and the bundled data gets exhausted, you will still be able to use Jio 5G data for free and there is no restriction on it, hence 5G is unlimited. Those who buy a prepaid plan with 1.5GB/day or less will not be able to enjoy this benefit and once the given data gets exhausted, they will have to recharge for additional data, which will not be the case with prepaid plans with 2GB/day or more.

Now, which are these Jio prepaid plans that do not offer unlimited 5G data to customers? Well, the details released by the telecom giant reveal that at least 5 plans will not be applicable for this. These include Rs 209, Rs 239, Rs 479, and Rs 666. At the moment it is unknown whether the Rs 1,559 plan will also be included in this list as it offers only 24GB data for 336 days. These are the prices of the existing plans that are set to increase on July 3. Also, all these plans come with unlimited voice calls and SMS benefits.

New Jio prepaid unlimited plans will be effective from July 3

Rs 189 plan: Earlier priced at Rs 155, it is now priced at Rs 189. It includes unlimited voice calls, 2GB data and SMS benefits for 28 days.
Rs 249 plan: Earlier it was priced at Rs 209, now it costs Rs 249. It offers 1GB data per day, unlimited voice calls and SMS benefits for 28 days.
Rs 299 plan: Earlier priced at Rs 239, it is now priced at Rs 299. It includes 1.5GB data per day, unlimited voice calls and SMS benefits for 28 days.
–Rs 349 plan: This plan, which was earlier priced at Rs 299, is now priced at Rs 349. It offers 2GB data per day, unlimited voice calls and SMS benefits for 28 days.
Rs 399 plan: Earlier priced at Rs 349, it is now priced at Rs 399. It includes 2.5GB data per day, unlimited voice calls and SMS benefits for 28 days.
–Rs 449 plan: This plan, which was earlier priced at Rs 399, is now priced at Rs 449. It offers 3GB data per day, unlimited voice calls and SMS benefits for 28 days.
