Redmi Pad Pro 5G review in 5 points: A great multitasker
The Redmi Pad Pro 5G delivers excellent performance in both entertainment and productivity. It multitasks seamlessly. But it’s not perfect either. Here’s a quick summary of our Redmi Pad Pro 5G review.
Redmi recently launched the Redmi Pad Pro 5G tablet. This is the first Redmi tablet that supports both 5G and Wi-Fi connectivity. The tablet also features Dolby Vision Atmos, a first for a Redmi tablet. The device has a large display, portable design, and great performance. Along with the Redmi Pad Pro 5G, Xiaomi has also launched the Redmi Pad Pro Keyboard and Redmi Smart Pen. We have experienced the real-life performance of the Redmi Pad Pro 5G and it performs quite well. You can read the detailed review. But if you want a quick summary, here is the Redmi Pad Pro 5G review in 5 points.
Redmi Pad Pro 5G in 5 points
Design and performance: The Redmi Pad Pro 5G has a metallic body design. It is available in two colour options: Graphite Gray and Quick Silver. I got the Graphite Gray variant for review. The back panel has a double-shaded metallic finish. From the front, the Redmi Pad Pro 5G resembles the front panel of the Apple iPad 10th generation. Despite the screen being large, the tablet is quite thin and light, making it easy to carry.
The Redmi Pad Pro 5G has a big 12.1-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It is big enough to hold 4 windows simultaneously and still not feel cluttered, which I will talk about in detail later. The huge display also takes the entertainment quotient to an impressive level. The display is bright and has vibrant colours.
Display: The Redmi Pad Pro 5G lets you get things done with ease. In fact, the ease of switching from one window to another is what impressed me the most. The tablet has a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset, and runs Xiaomi HyperOS based on Android 14. Talking about productivity, the performance of the tablet increases exponentially when you pair it with the Redmi Pad Pro Keyboard and Redmi Smart Pen. The keyboard lets you perform a lot of productive tasks very easily. The smart pen lets you go back to the OG pen-paper feel, while all your notes stay on the tablet. You will get more details in the full Redmi Pad Pro 5G review.
Camera: Talking about optics, the Redmi Pad Pro 5G sports an 8-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera. The primary camera works just fine. However, I feel the tablet needs to work on its front camera specs, especially for video calls.
Battery: The tablet packs a 10,000mAh battery with 33W wired charging support. Battery life is impressive, but the charging speed lags behind. I should also mention that all three products, the Redmi Pad Pro, Redmi Pad Pro Keyboard, and Redmi Smart Pen, all need to be charged separately. Saving grace: they all use a Type-C charging port. Read the detailed review of the Redmi Pad Pro 5G to know more about the charging speed.
Decision: Although the Redmi Pad Pro 5G faces tough competition, we think it is worth considering. The device offers a good display and the ability to multitask without any interruptions. At an effective price of Rs 22,999, you get a big smooth display, impressive battery backup, 5G connectivity, and great performance.
