The new year is here, and we have a jam-packed season of smartphone launches ahead of us. Redmi and Realme will launch their latest devices on the same day, January 8. While Redmi will unveil the Redmi Note 15 5G, Realme will debut the Realme 16 Pro series. Here’s everything you need to know about the first phone launches of 2026.

2026 is here, and so there are going to be many new smartphone launches in the pipeline. Phone makers have planned a busy January, with a number of releases. Starting with Redmi Note 15 5G and Realme 16 Pro series. Both devices will be launched on the same day – tomorrow, January 6.

India Today Tech brings you the latest updates as both the phones make their respective debuts. But ahead of the two launches, here’s everything you need to know to get up to speed on the Redmi Note 15 5G and Realme 16 Pro series.

Redmi Note 15 5G: Here are all the details

After a gap of over a year, Redmi will finally launch a new device for its Note series called the Note 15 5G. The Xiaomi sub-brand is focusing on a slim design, with the Note 15 5G measuring just 7.35mm thick. Redmi Note 15 5G also gets a curved 6.77-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The design on the rear is dominated by a large circular camera module, similar to the Redmi Note 14 Pro.

Redmi Note 15 5G will launch in India with a 108-megapixel main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS). The company has named it ‘Masterpixel Edition’. Under the hood, the device is powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset and is backed by a 5,520mAh battery with 45W fast charging.

There is very little information available about the price of Redmi Note 15 5G. But according to rumors its price will be less than Rs 25,000.

Redmi is also offering the Pad 2 Pro 5G in India along with the Note 15 5G. Pad 2 Pro 5G will have Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision support, QHD+ display and Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor with a large 12,000mAh battery.

Realme 16 Pro series: Everything you need to know

The Realme 16 Pro series will include Realme 16 Pro and Realme 16 Pro Plus. Both models feature a focus on premium design and camera quality. Realme 16 Pro and Pro Plus will be equipped with a 200-megapixel main camera sensor. A 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens has also been added to the Realme 16 Pro Plus.

Both Realme 16 Pro devices will have camera modules with metal finish for a premium look. The Realme 16 Pro Plus will be powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, while the 16 Pro will be powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 7000 series. Realme is doubling the stamina with a 7,000mAh silicon-carbon battery with support for 80W fast charging on both devices.

The price of Realme 16 Pro series is unannounced. However, rumors suggest that the Realme 16 Pro may be priced above Rs 30,000 and the 16 Pro Plus may be priced closer to Rs 40,000.

Along with the smartphone, Realme is also introducing the Realme Pad 3 in India. The tablet replaces the Pad 2 model launching in 2023 and will be equipped with a 12,200mAh battery and a 2.8K display. The Pad 3 is expected to include AI features, although specific details have not been revealed by the company yet.
