Xiaomi sub-brand Redmi has recently announced the launch date of its upcoming device – Redmi Note 14. The company announced on its Instagram broadcast channel, “For the Noteworthy”, that the Redmi Note 14 series is releasing on December 9. In the official teaser, the company has also hinted that the upcoming series will come with “advanced AI features and game-changing camera innovations”.
To recap, the series has already been launched in China in September. There is every possibility that the company will bring the same variant in India also. But the exact details will be known only later. We will have to wait to see if there are any changes in the specifications of the Indian or global version of the Note 14 series compared to the Chinese version of the phone, but the design of the phone is expected to be similar.
Redmi Note 14 series expectations
All models of the Redmi Note 14 series are rumored to feature a 6.67-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the Redmi Note 14 Pro and Pro+ are said to come with Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 and Dimensity 7300 Ultra chipsets respectively, while the base model reportedly uses the MediaTek Dimensity 7025 Ultra processor.
Both the Pro and Pro+ variants are expected to have triple rear cameras, which include a 50-megapixel primary sensor and an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens. However, their third cameras differ: the Pro+ may have a 50-megapixel portrait telephoto lens, while the Pro is rumored to have a 2-megapixel macro sensor.
Battery specifications also differ between the two high-end models. The Redmi Note 14 Pro+ is believed to have a larger 6,200mAh battery with support for 90W fast charging, while the Pro model may include a smaller 5,500mAh battery with 44W fast charging. These features are aimed to meet the needs of users seeking a balance between power efficiency, photography and performance.
The series appears to be focused on delivering competitive specifications, especially in display quality, camera versatility and battery capabilities, to strengthen its position in the mid-range smartphone market.
Since no specifications have been confirmed yet, we advise you to take this information with a pinch of salt. All specifications will be revealed on the launch date. However, so far, we know that the phone will be deeply integrated with AI and sport an amazing camera lens.
Talking about the price of the device, the Chinese standard variant was priced at CNY 1,199 (approximately Rs 14,000). Therefore Indians should get this phone for Rs 20,000. Earlier, its predecessor, Redmi Note 13 was launched in India at a starting price of Rs 18,000. But, only the future will decide the price of the upcoming series.
