Redmi A4 5G has finally arrived in India. The company has launched the entry level smartphone at a starting price of Rs 8,499. Initially, the phone was introduced during IMC 2024, and it attracted attention as it is equipped with Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC. This is the first entry-level smartphone to come with this chipset. Redmi A4 5G: Price and availability

Redmi launched Redmi A4 5G in India today at a starting price of Rs 8,499. It comes in two variants: 4GB + 64GB, priced at Rs 8,499, and 4GB + 128GB, priced at Rs 9,499. The phone will be available on Amazon, Mi.com and Xioami retail stores from November 27, 12 noon. It comes in two color options: Starry Black and Sparkle Purple.

Redmi A4 5G: Specs and features

Design and Performance: The phone sports a round, glossy camera module on the back, a design that resembles the Redmi A3 (4G) but with a glossy finish. Its frame is flat, the volume and power buttons are located on the right side. The A3 model had a fingerprint sensor integrated into its power button; The A4 follows it. The 3.5 mm headphone jack is located on the top edge of the phone. Redmi A4 5G comes with a premium looking Halo Glass back design.

It features a large 6.88-inch HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate that promises a smooth and fluid display experience. It reaches a peak brightness of 600nits. Apart from this, the display is also equipped with eye protection technology. It features Low Blue Light, TUV Cirradian, and flicker-free technology.

Processor: Redmi A4 5G is the first smartphone under Rs 10,000 to be powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chip. This is the only 4nm Snapdragon processor in this segment. Built on Samsung’s 4nm architecture, this octa-core processor has two Cortex-A78 cores clocked at up to 2GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores clocked at up to 1.8GHz. It is compatible with LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 3.1 storage, providing a strong foundation for performance. The device features the segment-best user interface, Xiaomi HyperOS out-of-the-box based on Android 14, which promises two years of Android updates and four years of security updates.

Camera: The phone has a 50 megapixel primary camera. The dual-camera setup is equipped with AI features. Camera features include time-lapse, portrait mode, 10x zoom capabilities, film camera and more. It has a 5 megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls.

Battery: Powered by a 5,160mAh battery, the Redmi A4 5G promises to deliver all-day battery life. Also, it has 18W fast charging support. A 33W charger priced at Rs 1,999 will come out of the box.
