redmagic 11 air review

Must read

Introduction and Specifications

A slim and portable gaming phone? It doesn’t get any higher than this. And yet, the Nubia RedMagic 11 Air is exactly that. It’s a slim and relatively light handset, at least as far as gaming phones go, and it’s also a more affordable alternative to the regular Redmagic gaming smartphone series.

However, despite the low weight and slim body, the RedMagic 11 Air is built on the foundations that make RedMagic phones unique. It has a see-through design, has a dedicated cooling fan and brings a few upgrades over the previous RedMagic 10 Air generation. The new 11 Air now looks much closer to the Redmagic 11.

For example, the RedMagic 11 Air borrows the RedMagic 11 Pro’s 6.85-inch OLED panel with a 144Hz refresh rate, which is a step up from the 120Hz screen on the 10 Air.

The new Air is equipped with a far more powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset than its predecessor, but still a notch below the RedMagic 11 Pro with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.

Apart from the upgraded chipset and display, the 11 Air is also getting a new battery. The device now has a 7,000 mAh capacity Si/C battery, up from 6,000 mAh last year, but 80W fast wired charging has been retained.

Now let’s take a deeper dive into the RedMagic 11 Air and see what you might lose and gain with a more portable gaming device.

Unboxing the RedMagic 11 Air

The device comes in a standard retail box with the usual quick start guide, a transparent protective case, and a USB-A to USB-C cable for charging and data transfer.
