Mohanlal’s L2: Empuraan’s re -edited version – as confirmed by a manufacturer, Antony Perumbavur – was displayed in the Artec theaters in Thiruvananthapuram at 11.25 am on Tuesday. The producer met the media on Tuesday and said that he edited the film without any external pressure. Footage of two minutes and eight seconds has been removed after the sensoring again.
L2: Ampuran was dragged into controversy over several scenes to portray the 2002 Gujarat riots. After a large -scale backlash from the public and right -wing supporters, the manufacturers decided to go for sensoring again.
The film was re -censored by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), suggesting 24 cuts, including changing the villain from Baba Bajrangi to Baldev. Cuts also included the name of minister-actor Suresh Gopi from the thank-U card and the muting of contexts of central agencies.
Here is a list of cuts in the edited version again:

Talking to the media, producer Antony Permbavur said, “We did not do this under pressure. We are people who want to improve if our cinema also harms any one common man.”
He stopped rumors about the separate team Prithviraj Sukumaran. A few days ago, director Major Ravi defended Mohanlal and claimed that the superstar was not aware of the entire script.
Addressing Ravi’s claims, Permbavur said, “It is not right to say that Mohanlal did not know about the film. We all knew about the film. There is nothing like we are separating Prithviraj. We are all together in this film. We did not edit under any pressure.”
L2: Ampuran was released in theaters in many languages on 27 March. The film stars Mohanlal, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, Abhimanyu Singh, Suraj Venjaramudu and many other lead roles.
Manufacturer Antony Permbavur confirmed that the third part of the Lucifer series would certainly be created.
