Raveena Tandon apologizes to fans for refusing to take selfie, explains why she walked away
Actress Raveena Tandon recently recalled the time when a group of fans in London approached her for a selfie, which made her panic and she left the place. She apologised to them on X and explained the reason for her sudden departure.

Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon admitted that she felt nervous when she was asked to pose for a photo in private. She revealed on social media that it all started after an incident in Mumbai’s Bandra where she was falsely accused of causing a car accident after consuming alcohol. The Mumbai police later denied these claims.
Raveena Tandon recalled an incident in London when a group of fans approached her for a selfie, which made her panic and run away. On September 12, she shared a post on social media in which she apologised to the fans for not posing for a photo with them. She expressed deep regret and revealed that the Bandra incident has deeply disturbed her, which is why she stays away from such crowds.
Take a look at the post here:
Hi, this is just to put it on the record. A few days ago in London, I was walking and some guys came up to me, I hadn’t heard great things about the crime situation here anyway, so when they asked me if I was who I was, I was a bit taken aback, and my first instinct was to say ‘no’. — Raveena Tandon (@TandonRaveena) September 13, 2024

Anyway, I hadn’t heard such good things about the crime situation here, so when they asked if I was who I was, I was a bit taken aback, and my first instinct was to say no and walk away even faster, since I was alone. I think they just wanted a picture, and I agree with them most of the time, but after the Bandra incident a few months ago I’ve been a bit nervous and traumatised, so I’m fine when I’m with people, but when I’m alone I’m a bit nervous these days (sic).”
Expressing regret, Raveena further said, “I should have given them a photo, because they were probably innocent fans, but I panicked and quickly left the place and just asked a security guard for help. I felt really bad after this incident and if they are reading this then I would like to apologize to them through this medium that I did not mean to hurt them. I am really sorry.”
She concluded with a wish to meet her fans again. “Hopefully I will be able to meet you again and click a picture with you, maybe. I try my best to be accessible and normal, but at times I fail. So sorry guys. I hope you are reading this and know that I shouldn’t have panicked”, she shared.
In June, a man had alleged that Raveena Tandon’s driver had hit his mother and that the actress, in a drunken state, had assaulted him. However, police investigations based on CCTV footage from the Khar building where the incident took place revealed that the women were close to the actress’ car but were not hit by it.
