Behind the creation of Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda’s jewellery.

Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda honored their roots in different ways during their wedding. From performing two traditional weddings to decorating with banana leaves, they did it all. But what spoke loudly about her love for her cultures was her heavy gold jewelery inspired by the temples of India.

Giving more details about the bride’s jewellery, the Hyderabad-based jewelery brand told NDTV that Rashmika paid homage to her background by choosing jewelery inspired by South Indian architecture.

The bride’s 11-piece set included a traditional harem, statement earrings, jada badla, champasaralu, hathphool, mathapatti, nose pin, bangles, armlet, waist belt and a choker with anklets. This masterpiece was adorned with high-relief carving work and intricate rava granulation, finished in a pristine matte polish.

As far as the groom is concerned, the Dear Comrade actor decided to showcase his inner royalty by wearing royal and traditional jewelery for his Telugu wedding ceremony. Vijay pieces incorporate elephant motifs symbolizing wisdom and tiger elements representing agility. They were balanced with sophisticated floral patterns and Nakshi engravings. Wearing large ear studs, a wrist cuff, two necklaces, an arm cuff, an ankle bracelet and a few rings, he looked like South Indian royalty.

According to the jewellers, “Rashmika’s bridal look was conceived around the aura of a living goddess, while Vijay’s ensemble epitomized the presence of a sovereign king.” When asked how long it took to create the rich, heritage-inspired masterpieces, the brand representative revealed, “The entire journey lasted 10 months – from design concept, customisation, production, testing and the final result.

Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda’s union celebrated traditional Indian jewellery, giving it much-needed recognition.
