Rashmika Mandanna has returned to the world of cinema after an intimate yet grand wedding. The actress was recently awarded the Best Actress Award at the Telangana Gaddaar Film Awards, during which she became emotional. Accepting the trophy, the 29-year-old talked about how she was once mocked for her acting, whereas now a film like The Girlfriend has given her the honor of earning a prestigious award. Later, she got up to embrace her mother-in-law, Deverakonda Madhavi, who shed some of her tears.

As quoted by Hindustan Times, the actress shed tears while accepting the trophy with Dhikshit Shetty’s Vikram for her work as Bhoomi Devi in the film and said, recalling how once her acting chops had turned into memes but now she has got coveted awards, “There was a time when I was trolled for my performance. But now, I have got an award from the state for my performance. So, I feel I have come a long way. With this award It is very special to achieve a film like The Girlfriend, which gives us confidence to make more such films.
Rashmika Mandanna said the award is even more special after her marriage to Vijay Deverakonda, “This is my first festival as a married woman, and I actually completed my (Ugadi) puja before going to the awards ceremony. It was beautiful, and I feel satisfied.”
Talking about how this is her first win after marriage, and expressed her happiness at being treated like a daughter all this time, she wanted to celebrate her award with her family, “It makes me very proud, and I will always be very grateful for your love.” Later, she directly addressed her mother-in-law in the audience who was cheering for her victory and said, “Paplu, I did it. Now let’s go home and party.”
Meanwhile, Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda got married on February 26 and hosted a grand reception on March 4.
