Ranveer Singh is a great actor and his versatile acting abilities are proof of this in his illustrious career. Ranveer started his career in 2010 with Aditya Chopra’s production Band Baaja Baaraat in which he played the role of a common Delhi boy Bittu Sharma. Three years later, Ranveer proved his versatility in Vikramaditya Motwane’s Lootera in which the audience saw him as a thief Varun Srivastava. The film, directed by Motwane, received positive response from critics but did not do well at the box office during its release. Actor Gulshan Devaiah recently shared that Ranveer was affected by the poor performance of Lootera and he got back into his zone on the sets of Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela.
Recently during his interview with Lehran Retro, Gulshan Devaiah revealed how Ranveer Singh was deeply affected by the failure of Lootera at the box office. The Bad Cop actor revealed that it was because his films were not doing well at that time.
“I think it started affecting him, whether he wanted it or not,” said Gulshan, who has worked with Ranveer in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s 2013 film Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela. The actor added that Ranveer’s Band Baaja Baaraat did well, however, his other film Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl did average.
The Hunterrr actor reminisced that he used to be upset when his co-star Ranveer gained stardom. He said that Ranveer started “trying” to make the audience like the film Lootera as it had a “beautiful” story. However, things did not turn out as the Padmaavat actor had thought.
Referring to Ranveer Singh’s special “high-octane energy”, Gulshan said the actor got back into his “zone” while shooting for the musical sequence of Bhansali’s film Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela. The 46-year-old praised the Bajirao Mastani actor, saying he is “exactly” what you think he is. Quoting people who have known him since his childhood days, Gulshan said Ranveer has been the same throughout his life.
Recalling his experience of working with Bhansali on the sets of the film, Gulshan described Ranveer’s energy levels as “amazing”. The Ulj actor shared that he would walk away at times as he couldn’t maintain the same energy as the Simmba star. Gulshan said that he used to get tired seeing Ranveer’s energy.
