Randeep Hooda recently made his directorial debut with ‘Swatantrya Veer Savarkar’. He also played the lead role in it and has been praised for his dedication in portraying Savarkar. Now, at an event, the actor claimed that he got ‘zero support’ from Bollywood for the film.
At an event, the actor claimed, “Bollywood did not give any support to ‘Savarkar’. I make films for the audience, not for them.” However, he admitted that Sajid Nadiadwala helped him and he received critical support from the producer.
The actor also shared his desire to make an action film, which could have Uttar Pradesh as its backdrop. The actor further added that he feels he has ‘given the industry a new perspective of making biopics’ with ‘Swatantrya Veer Savarkar’ and hopes the same happens with the action film.
The actor had earlier revealed how he had to sell some of his properties to raise enough money to make the film. He later revealed in another interview that thankfully, he recovered the money and also made a profit from the film.
Hooda underwent a huge body transformation to play Savarkar in the film. He surprised fans with his weight loss by sharing a picture of himself from the sets.
‘Swatantrya Veer Savarkar’ will release in theatres in March 2024.
