Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda recently shared his views on the tendency to follow the trends on Bollywood trend. He said that real innovation is now seen mainly on OTT platforms. Using the success of the street, the specialty of Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkumar Rao, as an example, said how the industry is now filled with horror comedy, as filmmakers run to repeat their formula.
In a conversation with the Indian Express, Randeep Hooda discussed how the industry depends a lot on the trends. He said, “I will bring it down in the trick. If one thing works, then similar things start to be made.
As an actor, he believes that such an approach should not determine creative options and highlights the ongoing crisis in Bollywood run by many factors.
Swatiria Veer Savarkar actor highlighted how films have become rapidly-operated, which focus more on execution than film production. He said that the industry has removed itself from originality, working within a limited place which leaves very little space for creative use.
Randeep said that despite concerns about the lack of Bollywood’s originality, he looks at OTT platforms, where creativity still finds a place to flourish. However, he admits that even streaming platforms are starting to prioritize commercial appeal, which is motivated by the need for high audience and membership.
Determined to expand the boundaries, he said that he hopes to be united to challenge the criteria to create a balance, searches for the practical story, selecting the subjects echoing with a comprehensive audience.
Randeep Hooda also spoke about the different views of South Indian filmmakers, praising their ability to make stories with deep cultural roots and well-developed characters. He said that his story is associated with his legacy, which focuses on fundamental human emotions that echo with a wider audience.
Recently, talking about the success of blockbuster films, Randeep said that the biggest dialogues from life and commercial elements, once a Bollywood icon like Amitabh Bachchan, are making a strong comeback in South cinema with characters like Pushpa, who refuse to bow down.
Randeep Hooda stressed that South Indian filmmakers are essentially preparing Bollywood films once, but with a strong story and more authentic character development. He explained how the characters like Pushpa stand outside for their raw and incomplete appeal, unlike many Bollywood heroes, who prefer the deepening of the performance in the performance.
