In recent years, the Ramayana project has become one of the most talked about projects in Indian cinema. Nitesh Tiwari and DNEG have made a brilliant casting choice by bringing together Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, Sai Pallavi and Sunny Deol. Actor Ravi Dubey has now confirmed his role as Lakshman in the epic saga. He praised Ranbir on this occasion, calling him the ‘most beautiful’ person.
In an interview with Connect Cine, Ravi Dubey, on the question of whether he would play the role of Laxman, said, “With due permission from my producers, yes, I am.” He stressed the importance of respecting the sanctity of the project and explained that he did not want to share details prematurely without the creators’ approval.
After consulting producer Namit Malhotra and director Nitish Tiwari, the actor went ahead to confirm his role, avoiding any unnecessary speculations.
Ravi Dubey described the film as ‘serious’ and ‘honest’ and shared his experience of working with Ranbir Kapoor for the first time. He praised the Animal actor’s kindness, empathy and decency and said that despite being a megastar, he remains humble and never lets his hard work show on the sets.
He highlighted that whenever Ranbir is in front of the camera, his dedication is evident. He described him as the most commercially successful and beautiful artist of his generation, expressed deep respect and affection for him, and compared him to his elder brother. Ravi Dubey said, “He is the kindest person I have ever met and I treat him like my elder brother and love him.”
Earlier, Namit Malhotra unveiled the first poster of the much-awaited film on Instagram. The poster features the film’s title as well as an arrow pointing upwards, hinting at the epic journey ahead.
In his heartfelt caption, Namit reflected on the long journey, saying that more than a decade ago, he set out on a mission to bring to the big screen the revered epic loved by billions of people for over 5,000 years.

He expressed his excitement to see this project come to life, with dedicated teams working tirelessly to ensure an authentic, visually stunning adaptation that respects India’s rich history, culture and truth.
Inviting the audience to join him in celebrating this important endeavour, he concluded by revealing that Ramayan Part 1 will release during Diwali 2026, and Part 2 will release next year in Diwali 2027.
