Ramayan Exclusive: Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Yash as Ravana, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Sunny Deol as Hanuman will be introduced in their iconic first looks on April 2.

In a major development for one of the most awaited epics in Indian cinema, the team behind Ramayan is getting ready for its second official unveiling. Pinkvilla has exclusively learned that producer Namit Malhotra and director Nitish Tiwari are all set to unveil a special property, launching it to coincide with the auspicious occasion of Hanuman Jayanti on April 2.

The launch will be the first time that audiences will see the film’s star cast in their characters and on-screen avatar. Leading the cast, Ranbir Kapoor will be seen as Lord Ram, while Yash will step into the powerful role of Ravana. Sai Pallavi plays the role of Sita, Ravi Dubey plays the role of Lakshman and Sunny Deol plays the role of Hanuman. The property is expected to showcase the entire cast in their respective looks, offering the first glimpse of the film’s interpretation of these iconic characters.

According to insiders, the highlights of the announcement video will largely revolve around the presence of Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Ravi Dubey, Sunny Deol and Yash. The visual presentation aims to make the audience realize the emotional and character-driven approach taken by the makers to retell this epic.

A source close to the project revealed, “This property is designed to present the world of Ramayana through its characters. It is more personal and lies in how each role has been imagined. The scale and action will be explored in a separate property that will come in a few months.” Apart from the lead star-cast, the makers will also unveil the look of the entire ensemble cast which also includes actors like Rakul Preet Singh, Lara Dutta, Vivek Oberoi, Arun Govil and Kunal Kapoor.

Interestingly, this launch is the beginning of a massive 7-month promotional campaign. The makers have planned to introduce multiple assets at regular intervals to build anticipation in the film’s narrative and visual grandeur.

While the April 2 reveal focused on character introductions, another video is expected to arrive in the coming months and will shed light on the film’s scale, action, and more. Ramayana is the first installment of a planned two-part film series with music composed by world-renowned composers, Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman.

The film is set to release on the big screen on Diwali 2026.
