Ram Kapoor reveals how he lost 55 kg in 18 months

Ram Kapoor recently went through a massive body transformation when he lost 55 kg in 18 months. In an interview with ETimes, the actor revealed how he lost weight ‘the old fashioned way’, amid speculations that he had undergone surgery or taken weight loss drugs. Ram said, “Believe it or not, I did it the old-fashioned way, by changing my mindset, lifestyle and habits, without any surgery or outside help. That said, there is nothing wrong with medical options if they help someone. For me, it was about a complete mental and physical reset.

The actor said that turning 50 is an alarm bell for him. He said, “I have two children, and I felt the need to set a positive example for them by prioritizing my health. Over the last six months, I pushed myself to lose 55 kilograms, bringing my weight down to 85 kg. Kilograms done. Change is extremely personal.”

Ram shared that losing weight at 50 is “definitely hard.” “I realized that this needs to be a lifelong change, not a temporary solution. It’s not about following a diet for a few months; it’s about changing who you are as a person. I Had lost 30kg twice in the past, only this time, I didn’t focus on quick results or just willpower, rather I focused on fitness, what I eat, how much I sleep, my exercise routine, hydration and Fasting intervals focused on a number scale; It’s about feeling strong, energetic and healthy. Being fit is a constant work in progress, and one’s life revolves around continuous improvement,” said the actor.

In an old interview with Bangalore Mirror, Ram Kapoor revealed that he worked out for two hours every day and did intermittent fasting to achieve his desired weight goal.

He said, “I do weight-lifting for an hour as soon as I wake up in the morning on an empty stomach and do cardio just before sleeping at night. I eat limited food for an eight-hour period. In the remaining 16 hours, I don’t eat anything, I have given up dairy, oil, most carbs and sugar. Ram shared that the hardest food to cut out of his diet was meat.

Earlier this month, Ram Kapoor returned to Instagram after a gap of almost three months. The actor posted a mirror selfie on social media to announce his comeback. This picture caught everyone’s attention due to Ram’s amazing physical transformation. He looked very thin in the pictures. The side note on the post reads, “Hello friends, sorry for a short absence from Insta. I was working on myself extensively.”
