Ram Gopal Varma’s praise Kanta: Chapter 1, says that all filmmakers should feel ashamed
Actor-director Rish Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1, a prequel for the hit of 2022, was released in theaters on 2 October. Ram Gopal Varma praised the film for his sound design, production quality and “unimaginable efforts”.

Actor-director Rish Shetty’s ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’, the much awaited pre-prequel to his 2022 blockbuster Kantara, hits theaters on 2 October. Ram Gopal Varma joined Sandeep Ready Wanga, Yash and Upendra, while praising the film for his cinematic experience and “uncontrolled creative team”.
In his X review for ‘Kanta: Chapter 1’, Verma wrote, “Kantararaara is fetterstap … All filmmakers in India should feel ashamed after watching unimaginable attempt …@Shetty_Rishab and his team put BGM, Sound Design, Cinematography, Production Design and VFX in a bonus, which is a bonus, a bonus for them Bonus, which is a bonus.

Actor Nevin Payal praised the film on his birthday post on X for Hombel Films producer Vijay Kirgandur. He captioned, “What a film! Absolutely amazing … huge greetings, @shetty_rishab and team. While the ‘Kantara’ focused on land conflicts and in a modern day setting, its prequel, ‘Kanta: Chapter 1’, investigates a long ago era. The 4th -century CE coastal was set in Karnataka during the Kadamba dynasty, the origin of the film legend and delays the history of the Bhuta cola rituals.
Bharat Today, in his review for the film, wrote, “Climbing and Guliga sequences of Prequel are special mentioned and many rivets. Rish Shetty, as an artist, is actually a force of nature in these moments. ‘Kanta: Chapter 1’ estimates that a net (gross minus tax) of Rs 60 crore was earned in India on its release day, as reported by Sacnilk. Considering a minor budget of about Rs 125 crore for a film on this scale, day 1 collection is unprecedented.
‘Kantara Chapter 1’ also includes Rukmini Vasant, Gulshan Devaiya and Jairam in the lead roles.
