Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma, who has worked with actor Amitabh Bachchan in several films, including Sarkar, praised the actor’s successful career in his own way. He shared a magazine cover from 1990, which announced the end of Amitabh’s career.

“34 years ago Illustrated Weekly magazine had this on its cover and now Illustrated Weekly is over and @SrBachan is flying high,” the film director wrote in the caption.

Amitabh Bachchan, whose career shined in the 1970s with films like Sholay, Deewar, Zanjeer, Amar Akbar Anthony and many others, failed to make a mark in the 1980s and 1990s. It was only in the 2000s that the actor made a successful comeback with the TV show Kaun Banega Crorepati and Yash Raj Films’ Mohabbatein.

The actor continued to work tirelessly even at the age of 81. His last film Kalki 2898 A.D. was a box office hit. Amitabh received a lot of appreciation for his role as Ashwatthama in the film. He is also currently hosting the sixteenth season of the quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati.
