After months of toiling trying to figure out what the next zombie adventure movie will be about, Ralph Fiennes recently revealed details 28 years later.
For everyone eagerly awaiting the release of the sequel to 2007’s 28 Weeks Later, The Invisible Woman actor recently had some very exciting words to say. Fiennes plays a pivotal role of a doctor in 28 Years Later Speaking to IndieWire, The Menu actor surprised everyone by saying that the next film will be a three-part entry.
Speaking further to the outlet, Fiennes said that the thriller film depicts a plague-infected Britain 28 years after the first outbreak. The area is infested with ferocious and violent humans, with only a few healthy and uninfected survivors trying to survive in communities.
The story centers around a boy trying to find a doctor to help his dying mother.
“He takes his mother to this beautiful northern English area. But of course, there are people around them, hidden in the woods and hills and forests, who are infected,” said the actor who left us with a captivating performance as the antagonist, Lord Voldemort in the Harry Potter series.
He then went on to say that the boy eventually finds a man, a doctor, who may at first give the audience the impression of being “weird and strange”, but is actually “a force for good”.
Along with Ralph Fiennes, the cast of the film 28 Years Later also includes some great names like Jodie Comer and Aaron Taylor-Johnson, with Cillian Murphy reprising his role from 2002’s 28 Days Later.
In May this year, Tim Rothman said that Oppenheimer would return to star in the sequel, although the Sony Motion Pictures Group chairman even teased that his role would be a surprise. Watching the movie and what happens next.
The next entry in the zombie series will be written and directed by the same duo behind 28 Days Later.
The screenplay will be co-written by Alex Garland, with Danny Boyle helming the direction.
