Rakul Preet Singh, who has predominantly worked in Tamil and Telugu films, made her Bollywood debut with the 2014 film Yaariyan. She has worked in Hindi films such as De De Pyar De, Runway 34, Doctor G, Thank God and Chatriwali. Rakul is now gearing up for De De Pyar De 2 alongside Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan. The actress recently spoke about nepotism and discussed why she doesn’t feel sad about losing films in her career.
During her appearance on the Ranveer Show, Rakul Preet Singh expressed her opinion on nepotism and admitted that she has lost films. Rakul recalled that her father used to share his experience when she wanted to join the army. The actress does not like bitterness as she believes those projects “were not meant for her”.
“I had to join the army, my father used to share his experiences with me. So nepotism, I don’t think much about it. Yes, it happens, films have been taken, but I am not someone who will sit back and get bitter. Maybe it wasn’t meant for me,” Rakul said.
The Doctor G actress emphasised that losing opportunities is inevitable and you can only move forward when you understand it. Rakul supported her view by citing a hypothetical situation from the medical industry. Rakul shared that if a doctor is unable to make it to the board and someone else is sent there, it is a part of life.
Rakul further added that she believes in helping her future children in their needs and stressed that she will not deny it. The actress expressed that she will not ask them to stand in line and try their luck. The De De Pyar De star added that she will try her best to support them. The 33-year-old actress connected the dots by saying that if a star kid gets “easy access” to enter films, the credit goes to his/her parents who have worked hard in their lives.
On the work front, Rakul Preet will reportedly be shooting for her next schedule of De De Pyar De 2 in Punjab with her co-stars Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan.
