Rakshastram crosses Rs 50 crore mark globally; Asif Ali’s second film
As we write, Rakshastram has crossed the Rs 50 crore mark at the worldwide box office. The film took 14 days to achieve this feat and became the fastest film in Asif Ali’s career to reach this milestone. This is back-to-back half-centuries for the lead actor. Earlier, his Onam 2024 release, Kishkindha Kaandam also left a similar mark and emerged as a big blockbuster at the box office, that too facing a clash with Ajayante Random Motionam.
Backed by Kaavya Film Company, Rakshastram continues to show phenomenal trends at the ticket window. After a stellar opening, the film crossed the Rs 25 crore mark in its opening weekend itself. Furthermore, it maintained a blockbuster performance throughout the week. The film faced some competition in its second weekend with the new release of Soubin Shahir’s Praveenkudu Shappu; However, after some time it managed to outperform this.
Rakshastram is facing a new challenge in its third week as Mammootty starrer Dominic has released today. The pace of this Asif Ali starrer film will now slow down. However, it still has enough fire to last for a couple of weeks. The film is expected to earn more than Rs 60 crore in its final run.
