It has been two years since veteran comedian Raju Srivastava passed away. Srivastava passed away on September 21, 2022, at the age of 58 due to complications following a cardiac arrest. The late comedian had collapsed on a treadmill in August and was hospitalised. He spent over a month in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). On his second death anniversary, Raju Srivastava’s wife Shikha got emotional and admitted that his life was not on the right track.
In conversation with Instant Bollywood, Shikha Srivastava was asked how she remembers her husband, late comedian Raju Srivastava, on his death anniversary.
“Meri zindagi bahut gadbad chal rahi hai iss wali. Sab kya chal rahi hai mujhe bhi nahi jaate bas. Show karne ke liye bahar jaate tha, hum wait karte tha, phir aate tha woh (My life is going very bad right now. I don’t understand what is happening. He used to go out for his shows and we used to wait for him to come),” said Raju’s wife Shikha.
Talking about how she misses her husband Raju, Shikha said, “Now he thinks that he has gone out for a show, he has gone for a long time. Sometimes I think that he has gone abroad. He keeps himself entertained like this.”
Popular comedian-actor Sunil Pal, who had a close bond with Raju Srivastava, said the late comedian and his wife loved him like their son.
According to an old report in Times of India, Raju Srivastava’s cousin Ashok Srivastava said that the late comedian had a heart attack. Srivastava was doing his regular exercise on the treadmill and suddenly collapsed. He was immediately rushed to the hospital.
Talking about work, Raju Srivastava was famous for his reel character Gajodhar in his live shows. He also worked in films like Baazigar, Bombay to Goa, Aamdani Atthanni Kharcha Rupaiya and Kanjoos Makkhichoos. The late comedian was also seen in the Amazon Prime Video series Hostel Days Season 3.
