Actor Rajpal Yadav has spent 11 nights in Tihar jail in the check bounce case. The Delhi High Court will hear the actor’s bail plea today after adjourning the case on Thursday. Meanwhile, the actor’s manager earlier told the media that his family is waiting for the hearing and they are hopeful of Yadav’s release.

Yadav, a prominent personality in the Hindi film industry, had reportedly taken a loan of Rs 5 crore from a Delhi-based businessman in 2010. He invested money in his directorial debut film, Topic address missing. However, the film did not perform at the box office and the actor could not repay the loan. People close to the actor told the media that he tried his best for years, but due to increasing interest, he was unable to repay the entire loan, which has now reached Rs 9 crore.

During the bail hearing on Thursday, Mohd. Court pulled up actor To reopen the case after failing to honor its commitment.

The court also issued notice to Murali Projects Company, the company that had given a loan of Rs 5 crore to Yadav, to file its reply on the bail plea. The case pertains to approximately Rs 9 crore which Yadav allegedly failed to repay. During the hearing, Yadav’s lawyers sought time from the court saying they needed instructions from it regarding the payment. The actor also told the court that he has to attend his niece’s wedding in Shahjahanpur later this month. He is in judicial custody in Tihar Jail since February 5.

During the proceedings, Delhi High Court strongly reprimanded the actor. Justice Swarnkant Sharma said that Yadav’s imprisonment was not because of a court order, but because of his own conduct. The court said that Yadav had admitted responsibility several times.
