Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 big, Vijay Sethupathi also involved: Report
Jailer 2, the sequel to the 2023 blockbuster, is getting bigger by the day, with fresh reports indicating that Vijay Sethupathi has joined the Rajinikanth-starrer, marking a possible reunion after Petta.


Rajinikanth’s jailer 2 It is steadily becoming one of the most anticipated big-ticket films of Tamil cinema, with major stars from various industries joining the project. After the joining of Meghna Raj Sarja, latest reports suggest that Vijay Sethupathi has now come on board.
According to reports on social media, Vijay Sethupathi has been roped in to play an important role in Jailer 2. The actor has reportedly joined the Goa schedule of the film. Although an official confirmation is still awaited from the makers, the news has already gone viral among fans.

Produced by Kalanidhi Maran, the sequel features the return of the original cast including Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu and Mirna along with cameo stars Shiva Rajkumar and Mohanlal. Additionally, the makers have brought in lead stars like SJ Suryah, Mithun Chakraborty, Vidya Balan and Santhanam. Now reports say that Vijay Sethupathi is also a part of the cast. With each new addition, the scale and prestige of the project continues to grow.
This is not the first time that Rajinikanth and Vijay Sethupathi have been seen together on screen. The two previously shared space in Karthik Subbaraj’s 2019 action drama PettaAlso produced by Sun Pictures. The film had a stellar cast including Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Sasikumar, Simran, Trisha, Megha Akash, Malavika Mohanan, Mahendran and Bobby Simha. If the news of Sethupathi joining Jailer 2 is true, then it will be interesting to see both the actors together on screen once again.

Meanwhile, Rajinikanth was last seen in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie alongside Nagarjuna, Soubin Shahir, Shruti Haasan, Rachita Ram, Upendra and Aamir Khan. The film grossed over Rs 500 crore worldwide and became the fourth highest-grossing Indian film of 2025.
