The speed intensified only in the weekend. Industry sources suggest that until Sunday, the global east -bikri touched a mark of $ 5 million – about Rs 42 crore. In India, ‘Coolie’ has seen a strong demand since earlier sale on Friday, which is so far for Rs 14 crore. The original Tamil version leads to Rs 9.98 crore, while the Telugu and Kannada versions are showing solid numbers.
In the Hindi dubbed version, however, it has a comparatively marginal start, selling 2,500 tickets in 400 shows. Business experts hope that it will raise the speed close to the release. With its current run rate, ‘Cool’ is set to shatter the highest advance booking record for a Rajinikanth film, which crosses the jailer’s benchmark of Rs 18 crore.
As a view of the 14 August release, the film is monitoring the all-time advance booking records set by Leo for Rs 46 crore. Its foreign tally has already assumed Kamal Haasan’s ‘Thug Life’, which is for Rs 41 crore, while the house is back.
If the trend occurs, ‘Cool’ can secure one of the biggest opening for an Indian film – and potentially gives a slope of Rajinikanth’s legendary career.
