Superstar Rajinikanth was admitted to a hospital in Chennai on Monday, September 30. The hospital has now issued a medical bulletin regarding his health. The statement shared by the hospital mentioned that Thalaivar had swelling in a major blood vessel connected to his heart and doctors had to perform a non-surgical procedure to repair it.
A bulletin issued by Apollo Hospital, located on Greams Road, Chennai, said that a stent was inserted inside the actor’s heart to stop the swelling. It was further told that Rajinikanth’s health is fine and he will be discharged from the hospital in a few days.
The full bulletin read, “Mr. Rajinikanth was admitted to Apollo Hospital, Greams Road on September 30, 2024. He had inflammation in the main blood vessel coming out of the heart (aorta), which was treated by a non-surgical, transcatheter method. Senior Interventional Cardiologist Dr. Sai Satish placed a stent in the aorta and completely closed the swelling. We would like to inform his well-wishers and fans that the procedure went as per plan. It’s okay, he will come home in two days.”
Earlier, the actor’s wife Latha Rajinikanth had told the media that “everything is fine” and refused to share further details about his health.
The 73-year-old man was admitted to the hospital after he reportedly complained of stomach pain.
Meanwhile, the actor is preparing for the release of his upcoming film Vettaiyaan. Amitabh Bachchan also plays an important role in this film directed by TJ Gnanvel. It is scheduled to release on screens on October 10. The superstar is also shooting for his next film, titled Coolie.
