Their reaction, or lack thereof, comes amid the Andhra Pradesh government’s decision to set up a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe alleged adulteration of ghee used in preparing the famous Tirumala Venkanna Laddu. The SIT, led by Guntur Range Inspector General of Police Sarvesh Tripathi, will also investigate other irregularities in the case.

Earlier, Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan had reportedly scolded fellow actor Karthi for making fun of the issue. In a strongly worded post on X, he asked Karthi to be careful before speaking on religious matters.

On September 23, Karthi attended an event in Hyderabad, during which the anchor presented some memes, one of which was about laddus. Responding to the same, the actor said, “Ippudu Laddu Gurinchi Matladkodadu (We should not talk about laddus now), it is a sensitive topic mankoddadi (we don’t want to).”

Later, the actor shared a post on Instagram and apologized for “any unintentional misunderstanding”. He also described himself as a humble devotee of Lord Venkateswara and wrote that he would always hold his traditions dear.

Pawan accepted the apology and wished Karthi and his brother Suriya all the best in another social media post.
