Lingaa, starring Rajinikanth in the lead role, was released in 2014. Directed by KS Ravikumar, the film was reported to be one of the highest-grossing Tamil films of the year. However, it was considered a box office failure due to high production costs. Recently, during an episode of Chat with Chitra, the filmmaker revealed how the project failed due to Rajinikanth’s alleged involvement.

This is not the first time that director KS Ravikumar has spoken openly about the failure of Rajinikanth starrer Lingaa.
