Rajinikanth is currently working on his upcoming movie jailer 2 directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. Amidst the shoot for his much awaited sequel, the superstar has taken a spiritual break, traveled to the Himalayas, and recently seen in Rishikesh, away from the glamorous life of cinema.

Amidst the busy shooting schedule of Jailor 2, superstar Rajinikanth took a break and focused on a peaceful and rejuvenating spiritual journey, embracing nature’s simplicity and peace.
According to reports, the actor was in Rishikesh on October 4, 2025, some of which were online from his journey. In the pictures shared by Suresh Pro, Rajinikanth enjoyed a simple meal on the roadside with some co-travelers. He was also seen talking with fellow passengers on the way.

Prior to his spiritual journey, Rajinikanth returned from Kerala, where he wrapped an important program for Jailor 2. On reaching Chennai, he confirmed that the film was ready to release on June 12, 2026, and shared that the shooting was moving well.
The film is expected to be wrapped by this year or by December next year. It offers enough time to the manufacturers to complete post-production tasks for the release of 2026.
Rajinikanth’s upcoming movies
Rajankanth last played a lead role in Cool directed by Lokesh Kanagaraja. The film tells the story of a former daily wage worker and union leader Devraj, who has been living in shadow for 30 years.
After his best friend and brother -in -law, Rajasekhar, the deity becomes suspicious about his death and starts his investigation. As he has long exposed the burial secrets, he learns about a powerful crime syndicate that is not only associated with his friend’s death, but also from his past.
In addition to Rajinikanth, Coolie consisted of a star-staded artist, including Nagarjuna Akini, Upendra, Shruti Haasan, Saubin Shahir, Satyaraj and Aamir Khan a cameo appearance.
After Jailor 2, Rajinikanth is also ready to act with his long -time friend and counterpart Kamal Haasan in an upcoming film. However, the official confirmation about the director is still waiting.
