Meeting Rajinikanth remains an aspiration for countless fans, and one man’s account of achieving this dream has garnered widespread attention online. A video widely circulated on social media shows a fan sharing his emotional journey of meeting the famous actor and successfully getting his autograph. The fan describes the sequence of events at an airport that led to the unexpected and memorable meeting with the superstar.

In the video statement, the fan said, “Flight was delayed. Somehow managed to board. All seats except one were filled. And he walked in – Rajinikanth sir. Still can’t believe his eyes. Hands were shaking but started sketching. Tried to get closer but he was sleeping. Slowly losing hope. Ran after him but he went to the lounge. I waited and tried everything, but nothing worked. Eventually his Got the autograph. I’m happy. From sketching his hand to getting his autograph. A dream I’ll never forget.”

The incident has affected many, as videos and posts about the fan’s encounter have been garnering reactions on various platforms.

The fan experience coincides with Rajinikanth’s recognition at the closing ceremony of the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa. The actor received the Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to the film industry for more than five decades.

During his acceptance speech, the superstar described his five-decade career as feeling very short. The 74-year-old also said that if he had 100 more lives, he would like to be born as an actor and Rajinikanth.

A widely shared clip of his address shows him saying, “50 years of acting in cinema feels like 10 or 15 years… if only there were 100 more birth (Life) is there, I would like to be born as an actor and Rajinikanth. All this honor mainly goes to the people of the cinema industry. Ennai Vaazhevikum Dheivangalana Tamil Makkal (Tamil people, gods who keep me alive) (sic).”

Rajinikanth received a standing ovation at the festival. He greeted those present with folded hands in acknowledgment of their support. He was accompanied by his family at the ceremony, which was attended by filmmakers and artistes from across the world.

Along with the recognition, the festival celebrated milestones in Indian and international cinema. It featured restored classics and a diverse selection of films in the Indian Panorama section,
