Recently there was news that superstar Rajinikanth will join hands with maverick director Mani Ratnam for a film. The news got fans excited as it marked the reunion of the Thalapathy couple. Now, actor Suhasini Mani Ratnam shared an update about the ongoing rumors about the possible reunion of Rajinikanth and Mani Ratnam. Recently, Rajinikanth was seen in director TJ Gnanavel’s Vettaiyan, which is running in theaters across the world.

talking to news18Suhasini laughed off the rumours, saying, “No, I don’t think even Rajinikanth and Mani know about it. It’s only people who are writing about it.”

A few days ago, it was reported that Rajinikanth and Mani Ratnam were ready to collaborate after a long time of 33 years. It was being said that both are in discussion about a script.

Their previous collaboration was the 1991 film Thalapathy, an iconic film that also starred Malayalam superstar Mammootty. The film was inspired by the friendship between Karna and Duryodhana from Mahabharata. While it would have been great to see the veterans on screen again, it looks like the wait will still continue.

On the work front, Rajinikanth is currently shooting for director Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie. This film will be released in theaters in 2025. Similarly, Mani Ratnam recently completed the shooting of Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan-starrer Thug Life, which is scheduled to release in theaters in summer 2025.
