The horror-comedy entertainer directed by Maruthi doesn’t have much fuel left to run at the box office. Currently stands at Rs. Since the trends are bad, the film will not be able to hold many screens in the second weekend.
Made on a large scale with a huge budget, The Raja Saab proved to be a major misstep for the makers. Based on current trends, it is expected that its full theatrical run will be around Rs. 20 crore figure or so.
Prabhas has got success at the Hindi box office since the film Baahubali. However, that success has been largely limited to the action genre or films with a devotional or religious background. Apart from these two, he has failed to score, first with Radhe Shyam and now with The Raja Saab. Although the film is an entertaining take on the fashion horror-comedy genre, which is staged on a grand scale, the comedy didn’t really deliver in the trailers. This being a Southern genre comedy is probably the holding factor.
