In the 2018 Raj Kumar Gupta film raid, Ileana D’Cruz played the role of Malini Patnaik, wife of Amay Patnaik. The audience loved his equation in the film. Therefore, when RAID 2 was announced in place of Ileana with Vani Kapoor, it raised many eyebrows. After the film’s trailer launch on 8 April 2025, Natisense discussed social media about what the producers did to make the switch.
The Gipping trailer of RAID 2, led by Ajay Devgan, was dropped in a grand event. There were many additions and subtractions among the artists. “Some also took on social media platforms, the 2018 film, told about the chemistry between Ileana and Ajay in Raid.
A user took R/bollywood on reddit and expressed, “Ilaiana was good in my opinion, she had a good chemistry with Ajay and she shared a good bond, and also looked great. Then why did she replace her? I am not against Vani, but I am just anxious !!”
Why did he replace Ileana with Vani ?? If Ajay is playing the role of America, then why did he have to replace Ileana ??

Anything resonated with the same spirit. One of them commented on the post, “Alaopapriya Rai but the best pair with Ajay Ileana N is her chemistry at the next level.” Another said, “The film is promising the trailer, so it’s fine if the heroine is replaced!”
However, there were many other people who said that at the time of shooting of the film, Ileana de -Cruz was pregnant. Therefore, the team went with Wani this time.
In the trailer launch event, when Ajay was asked if his character found a new wife in the sequel, the senior actor expressed that it was true. However, he said, “But the character can change. You see it in a lot of Hollywood films. Scene canary is no longer a James bond, okay? It is the character you follow and then new people keep coming in.”
Vani Kapoor also opened up Ileana about changing and said that there was no jealousy with the previous one. “We share a great equation off-screen,” he said.
Manufactured by Panorama Studio, Raid 2 is to be released on 1 May 2025.
