Veteran actor Rahul Bose, who was recently seen in the ZEE5 series, Berlin this month, has worked in films such as Pyaar Ke Side Effects, Shaurya, Niyat, Dil Dhadakne Do, Chameli and Jhankar Beats. He was also featured in Anvita Dutt’s Bulbul in 2020, co-starring Tripti Dimri and Avinash Tiwari. Rahul recently admitted to rejecting films with bad co-actors and revealed that he asks his director not to use such scenes when he doesn’t act well. The Berlin actor shared that he has to work hard in such situations.

During his new interaction with Siddharth Kanan’s podcast on his YouTube channel, Rahul Bose opened up about working with actors whom he believes are not good at acting.

When asked if he turns down a role after knowing that his co-star is not a good actor, Rahul said that he often shares his opinion with the makers that his co-star is not good and asks about his casting in the project. However, when the makers feel otherwise, he leaves the project, the senior actor said.

Rahul further added that he rejects such projects as the Dil Dhadakne Do actor believes that the film will not be successful if the makers cast a bad actor. Talking about his experience of working with such actors, Rahul said, “I have to work very hard with them and I have.”

The Jhankar Beats actor talked about how he asks some of his co-stars to practice dialogues with him even though he feels he is not confident about his dialogues. The senior star said that those actors rehearse with him and he does not suspect the real reason behind it. Rahul further said that he does it to make the scene better. However, those actors believe that they are doing it for him, he added.

Talking about if he has faced any artist who doesn’t perform well despite these rehearsals, Rahul shared that he asks the director not to use this scene. The Bulbul actor clarified that he does this with artistes who are not stars.

In the same interview, Rahul Bose recalled working with Tripti Dimri on the sets of Anushka Sharma’s production, Bubul. Rahul revealed how he shot the rape scene with the actress. Describing it as “tough”, the senior actor shared that he used to become a “beast” while shooting the scene. He remembered that he told his co-star Tripti to use the safe word ‘Rahul’ if she felt unsafe or aroused. Rahul made her comfortable by saying that he would stop after hearing the word out loud.

Rahul Bose’s other works include Mumbai Matinee, Dil Kabaddi, Vishwaroopam, Main Coolie of Chanchal, 15 Park Avenue, Mr and Mrs Iyer, Tahaan, I Am, Midnight Children and others. His role in Zoya Akhtar’s 2016 film Dil Dhadakne Do became a topic of discussion during its release. Rahul played Priyanka Chopra’s on-screen husband Manav in the film.

Rahul was recently seen in Atul Sabharwal’s series Berlin. He played the role of an intelligence officer Sondhi in it. Apart from him, the series featured Aparshakti Khurana, Ishwak Singh, Anupriya Goenka and Kabir Bedi in pivotal roles. It premiered at the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles in 2023. The series is available to watch on ZEE5 from September 13, 2024.
