Cincinnati lost one of her cute voices. Gary Berbank, a 700 wlw host for a long time, was incomparable and whose characters were indelible, died in Louisville at the age of 84 after a long illness. Fellow host Bill Cunningham announced on social media on Thursday.

Born in Memphis, Tennessee in 1941, Berbank started his career in radio with Bill Williams and Johnny Apollo at Louisiana stations in the 1960s. He arrived in 1968 in the vibrant Vacaki, Louisville, where his comic skills made him a star. After spending decades on the upcoming tour in other US and Canadian markets, Burbank arrived in 1981 at 700 WLW in Cincinnati, where his reputation was cemented.

On WLW, Burbank cultivated what he said with proud “Theater of the Mind”, brand-new comedy sketches and airways with showy celebrities.

Earl Pitts Umanikun, Crank-Coling Gilbert Ganner, and Bluezman Hellin were staples for listeners in Ohio, Kentaki and Indiana like ‘Blind Maddy Slim. Even fans were involved in grilling their team in real -time in the air in their sports or result section.

He retired from radio on 21 December in 2007, but was actively involved in music and charity. He was a talented composer in himself, once known as “The Markwis” in Memphis. He later co-established Cincinnati, his charity played it ahead, which along with musicians such as Sunny Mormon and Tim Goshorn provided assistance to musicians without staging profit ceremonies.

During his long career, Burbank won many appreciation such as the prestigious Marconi Award for large market personality. His name was included in the Radio Hall of Fame in 2012 for his continuous contribution to broadcasting.
