Mia Farrow is one of the highly acclaimed Hollywood actresses who shared a deep bond of love and friendship with the late singer Frank Sinatra. While tying the knot and sharing a strong bond of friendship, Farrow recalled the precious moments she spent with the Fly Me to the Moon singer.
The 79-year-old actress recently appeared on CBS’ Sunday morning show with her friend and The Roommate co-star Patti LuPone, during which she reminisced about her time with Frank Sinatra, to whom she was married from 1966 to 1968.
Speaking to journalist Seth Doane, The Great Gatsby actress said that, like Patti LuPone, the It’s Been a Long, Long Time singer was also from Sicily. However, she added that unlike the Life Goes On actress, Frank Sinatra “had a short temper.”
During the interview, the Allen V. Farrow actress referred to her late ex-husband as “an essential person” and someone who was “much kinder and shyer, and more accessible, than any other person I’ve ever known.”
Speaking about their time together as a couple, The Last Unicorn actress said their marriage, which took place in Las Vegas, ended soon but their bond turned into a long-lasting friendship that continued until the legendary singer died.
Frank Sinatra died in 1998 at the age of 82. Mia Farrow and Frank Sinatra met at 20th Century Fox in 1964 and quickly fell in love with each other.
Just two years later, the two got married at a Las Vegas hotel in 1966. Sadly, their marriage didn’t last long, as the Strangers in the Night singer handed the actress divorce papers in 1968 while she was on the set of Rosemary’s Baby.
Still, the two never completely parted ways, as both Farrow and Sinatra remained in touch as good friends.
Even after the legendary singer’s passing, Farrow kept his memories alive as recently as December 2023, she celebrated the late singer’s birthday which would have been his 107th birth anniversary.
The actress shared a sweet post on Instagram with a caption that read, “Happy heavenly birthday CB I will always love you ♥️.”
The Roommate is a one-act comedy in which LuPone plays a lesbian woman from New York who moves into Farrow’s character’s home in Iowa.
The 90-minute play is currently in the preview phase, with a September 12 opening.
