Radhika Madan: Irrfan was and will always be my ‘papa’ | Exclusive
Radhika Madan recalled her experience of working with the late Irrfan in ‘Angrezi Medium’. While speaking to IndiaToday.in, she shared heartwarming memories of their first meeting.
Radhika Madan, who worked with the late Irrfan in ‘Angrezi Medium’, recalled her first meeting with the late actor in an exclusive conversation with IndiaToday.in. She has often expressed deep admiration and respect for the late veteran actor.
‘Angrezi Medium’ revolves around the relationship between a father played by Irrfan and his daughter played by Radhika, who aspires to study abroad. Speaking to IndiaToday.in, Radhika recalled her first day on the sets of the film with the late actor.
He said, “First of all, I never thought that I would get a chance to work with Irrfan and Kareena Kapoor Khan so early in my career. I remember the first time we (Irrfan) met at a reading at the Maddock office and he was dressed entirely in pink.”
The actor further added, “I remember it very well and I was reading my script and he came and I just said ‘Hi papa’, he said ‘Aap hai’, and then hugged me very warmly and that was it. That was our first meeting. I never saw him as Irrfan. I always saw him as my father. I realised much later that, ‘Oh, I have worked with ‘Irrfan’. For me, he was and will remain ‘papa’.”
When asked which actor is on her wish list, she replied, “Definitely Ranbir Kapoor. I really respect his work and would love to work with him. Apart from him, Alia Bhatt, Konkana Sen Sharma and Manoj Bajpayee also want to work with him.”
Talking about work front, Radhika Madan was last seen in ‘Sarfira’ with Akshay Kumar.
