Tamil and Hindi actor R Madhavan is allegedly part of SSMB 29, the upcoming mega project directed by SS Rajamouli. The film starring Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra in the lead roles is currently under production and is expected to be one of the biggest Indian films till date.
According to reports, Madhavan will play a powerful and prominent character in the film, although the producers have not officially confirmed his casting, according to Moneycontrol. His inclusion has already created a discussion among fans, which has already added more star power to influential artists, including Malayalam actor Prithviraj Sukumaran.
What will Radavan play in SSMB29?
While the exact details of R Madhavan’s character are kept in wrapped, sources say it will be important for the story of the film. The project is the first collaboration between Madhavan and SS Rajamouli, which is known for the direction of blockbuster films like Bahubali and RRR.
The film is currently being shot in many international places, with a mixture of Indian mythological subjects and global adventures. Rajamouli is allegedly taking inspiration from Lord Smith’s novels and the legend of Lord Hanuman for the film.

SSMB29 began to film in January 2025. Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra have already shot several scenes in Hyderabad and Odisha. Major action sequences have been completed, and more global locations for upcoming shooting are prescribed.
The production team is also making a detailed set to recreate parts of Kashi in Hyderabad, as the story is partially set in the holy city. The film is being produced by veteran filmmaker KL Narayan with an estimated budget of Rs 1,000 crore. It is being written by Rajamouli’s father, famous screenwriter Vijayendra Prasad.
The manufacturers have not yet announced a complete plot, but the film promises to give a mixture of mythology, adventure and grand scenes. SSMB29 is expected to release in theaters worldwide in 2027.
