Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rule is already ruling the chartbusters across the country since its release. Social media is abuzz with comments and appreciation for the Sukumar directorial, which is on its way to becoming a blockbuster hit as the last film release of the year.
While the film would be released in various countries around the world, it was heavily censored before its release in Saudi Arabia.
Well, the Saudi Arabian Censor Board has heavily scrutinized the crucial Jathara scene of Pushpa 2 for its depiction of Hindu deities.
According to a report in News 18, officials objected to the fact that Allu Arjun was dressed as a goddess in the particular scene, despite being portrayed as the hero of the film. Indeed, the film’s extensive references to Hindu deities were also a matter of concern.
Thus, overall, 19 minutes of the Jathara sequence has been cut from Pushpa 2 before its release in Saudi Arabia, along with several other cuts and negotiations elsewhere.
After this, the final run time of the film in the Gulf country will be around 3 hours 1 minute.
However, this extensive cut implemented on the film has led many viewers to fear that the mass flick will lose its flow, given how important the Jathara sequence is to the climax.
Well, on the contrary, Pushpa 2 has been widely accepted by the audience with open arms, with theaters packed to houseful shows.
In some states like Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, the film was released a day earlier on 4 December, considering the film’s immense fan following and audience excitement.
In fact most southern states have scheduled morning shows for the film, starting around 6 am. The film has recorded tremendous pre-booking sales, earning around Rs. Rs 60 crore for initial FDFS.
Apart from Allu Arjun, the film also stars Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil, both of whom have acted brilliantly in the film.
