Punjab 95: Diljit Dosanjh’s film on Jaswant Singh Khalra will be released without any cuts.
The teaser of Punjab 95 was released on 17 January. It stars Diljit Dosanjh as Jaswant Singh Khalra, a Sikh human rights activist.

Diljit Dosanjh’s much-awaited Punjabi film is all set to release on February 7, 2025. The actor-singer shared the teaser on his Instagram with the hashtag, ‘Challenge the Darkness’. The film will also be released without any cuts. Honey Trehan will serve as director and Ronnie Screwvala will produce.
The trailer starts with Arjun Rampal’s character explaining how the history of Punjab for the public is limited only to historical events like Operation Bluestar, Indira Gandhi’s assassination and then the 1984 riots. We are then introduced to Diljit who plays the character of Jaswant Singh Khalra. He was a Sikh rights activist and was investigating illegal killings and cremations involving the Punjab Police.

On January 15, Diljit Dosanjh posted behind-the-scenes photos on Instagram, in which he was seen seriously injured.
Due to the sensitive subject matter of the film, the Censor Board had advised the makers of Punjab 95 to make 120 cuts. The film was also screened for Jaswant Singh Khalra’s family in 2022 and sources said that they were extremely happy with it.

The film is expected to show Khalra’s life before her kidnapping, torture and tragic murder by the police. At least six officers were booked for their involvement in the crime.
