Protest against custody of 100 arrested Palestinian worker arrested in Trump Tower

Police arrested about 100 people after the protesters gathered at Trump Tower in Manhattan on Thursday to protest against the custody of Palestinian activist and student of Columbia University, Mahmud Khalil. CNN reported that the US immigration and customs enforcement (ICE) have detained Khalil on their participation in Palestinian performances at Columbia University.

The protests conducted by the Jewish voice for the Jewish voice began immediately after noon. The protesters, wearing a red shirt with slogans such as “Not in our name” and “Jews stop stopping Israel”, a storm came to a storm in Tower’s prestigious golden lobby.

The protesters shouted “Free Mahmud Khalil” and unfit the banner, who read “Never Again for Annie” and “Jews say don’t follow it,” as stated by CNN.

According to the New York Police Department (NYPD), 98 people were later arrested, and 50 were led by a lobby in zip relations and kept waiting for police vehicles. It further stated that no injury or property damage was reported.

A protest organizer lived a live-stream of the protest of the balcony watching the atrium of Trump Tower. In the video, the women said, “As Jews, we are here today, only hours before Purim’s holiday – a holiday where we respect Esther who used their voice and demanded not to demand that the king should not massacre.” He said, “Today, we are using the same courage to speak.”

CNN reported that as soon as the NYPD police went to arrest the protesters, they sat together and started shouting slogans like “Free Palestine” and “The whole world are looking.

Federal agents protested a few days after Khalil was detained after the Trump administration canceled its green card.

US President Donald Trump welcomed the arrest of Mahmood Khalil, a student of Columbia University, who led the Palestinian protests on the campus, and firmly stated that it is “the first arrest of many people coming.”

Trump said on Monday (local time) that his administration would “not return” to “terrorist sympathizers” from the US.

“After my already signed executive orders, Ice proudly caught and detained Mahmud Khalil, who was a radical foreign supporter-Hamas student in the premises of Columbia University.

“There are not many students, they are paid agitators. We will find, catch, and deport these terrorists from our country, will never return again. If you support terrorism, if you support terrorism, your presence, including innocent men, women and children, is contrary to the interests of our national and foreign policy, and we welcome one from here.

Khalil’s lawyer has said that the US government has “retaliated” against its client to make a statement in support of the Palestinians and has been detained to exercise the right to free speech.
